This one comes from BoingBoing.net via Larryfire, but I couldn’t find the original on Larry’s site, and proves Whipple’s maxim that good advertising doesn’t have to be dumb or crass to be interesting.
And the second link is a slightly charming story about how a tricky problem can be handled elegantly and with respect.

I’m very fortunate to have been able to attend the Edinburgh fringe festival. For those that don’t know, it’s an arts festival that takes place throughout August, covering a wide range of performances from Opera to Magic, with first time performers and seasoned veterans alike. This great mix can be hit or miss but there’s so much on that you’re destined to see at least a few good shows. Easily one of the most memorable and enjoyable shows I saw was Flight of The Conchords. Bret and Germaine (he’s the one in glasses), two New Zealanders, sang songs and talked about imaginary families while the audience laughed the evening away. Unequivably likable, their songs talk about regretful tour bus drivers, the curiosities of mermaid sex and what will happen when robots finally take over the world, to name but a few songs.
They also have a TV show, and were recently involved in Eagle vs Shark, but to really get on baord the FoTC bus you need to see them live. See them live and then buy them a couple o’ gifts. ‘Cause these guys rock.
P.s. My favorite track: If you’re into it.

For those of you that thought Kayne West was the be all and end all of music:
- It was Daft Punk’s song, he just spoke over it.
- These guys are much cooler.
