Getting in shape can be hard. So don’t quit.
I always try to keep healthy, but my focus can shift as new projects pick up speed and life gets in the way. I’m sure it’s the same for everyone out there. But those first few days back in the gym after a break can be pretty humbling.
Those weights that used to be light, seem 20lbs heavier, and the bigger weights that used to be a fun challenge are now impossible. Don’t lose hope, you’ll get there.
As I’ve gotten older I’ve found that making sure I get to the gym at least twice a week, even during down times, minimises the loss and helps me get back up to speed when life gets back to normal.
